Locally grown, ethical firewood

We are long term contractors for Forestry England. We harvest wood from forests that are managed to the highest standards for people, wildlife and climate change.

The wood we harvest is mainly from Mortimer Forest, Wyre Forest and other smaller local woodlands in north Herefordshire and South Shropshire.

We then take it up to our yard on the side of Clee Hill, near Ludlow in South Shropshire, to be processed into firewood logs or biomass woodchip fuel.

It's air seasoned for several years to reach moisture levels below 20%, the standard required by Woodsure Ready to Burn certification.

Rather than burning logs to kiln dry logs, we just let nature do the work to get exactly the same result.

Neither do we import firewood by the crate from Europe, China or anywhere else. All of our wood comes from well managed local woodlands.

All in all, our logs are better value and better for the environment than kiln dried, heavily packaged alternatives shipped in from overseas.
